Leave the airport and follow the signs to Johannesburg/R24
Stay on this road which will pass an industrial area, go under Barbara Road and then merge with the N12.
Once you have merged onto the N12, stay in the two left lanes.
Follow the signs to Germiston/N3 to the left.
Stay on the N3 and look out for the Rand Airport sign.
At this point move into the two left lanes. Pass the Rand Airport off-ramp.
Take the next split to the left signposted Heidelberg/N17/Springs and Durban/N3.
Take this split to the left and stay on the N3 to Harrismith and into KwaZulu Natal.
Stay on the N3 past Heidelberg, through Harrismith and over Van Reenen’s Pass.
Pass Ladysmith and Colenso off-ramps and continue to Mooi River Toll.
Take the very left hand lane at the MAIN Mooi River Toll (Mooi River South Greytown)
Turn right - back over the highway until T-junction (Engen garage and Wimpy ahead)
Turn left and join the R103. Travel 10km south to Rosetta
At Rosetta turn right onto the Kamberg Road (opposite the Ugly Duckling)
Stay on the tar road for 30 km until you reach the Cleopatra, Dondini & Silver Hill sign (also Highmoor & Glengarry sign)
Turn left onto this dirt road
Travel for 5 km until you reach a single lane bridge
Approx 500m after the bridge the road turns sharply left to climb the mountain
At this corner you will see a concrete wall with the sign "CLEOPATRA"
Exit the airport and travel towards Durban on the N2.
Continue until you see the N3/Pietermaritzburg/Johannesburg signs.
Follow the N3 north to Pietermaritzburg/Johannesburg
Travel past Pietermaritzburg and Hilton
Take the third Howick off-ramp – signposted Howick North/Tweedie.
Turn left away from the highway.
Travel for 1 kilometre and turn right onto the R103 to Balgowan/Lidgetton
• Travel up this pretty road for about 35 kilometres, passing Balgowan and Rawdon’s Country Hotel.
• Pass the Bierfassel Restaurant and shortly after that, take the turn left under the railway line to Rosetta.
Continue for about 7 kilometres and look out for the Kamberg signs to the left just before you enter Rosetta (200m after the dip)
• Stay on the tar road for 30 km until you reach the Cleopatra, Dondini & Silver Hill sign (also Highmoor & Glengarry sign).
• Turn left onto this dirt road travel for 5 km until you reach a single lane bridge
approx 500m after the bridge the road turns sharply left to climb the mountain
at this corner you will see a concrete wall with the sign "CLEOPATRA"
Exit the airport and travel towards Durban on the N2.
Continue until you see the N3/Pietermaritzburg/Johannesburg signs.
Follow the N3 north to Pietermaritzburg/Johannesburg.
Travel past Pietermaritzburg and Hilton.
Pass Howick.
Take the Nottingham Road off- ramp (exit 132).
Continue into Nottingham Road village (travel under the railway bridge).
Continue through Nottingham Road on the R103 north to Rosetta
