1 RATES

  • 1.1  Rate base: Accommodation rates are quoted per person per night sharing or for the exclusive use of RockFig Safari

    Lodge as the case may be.

  • 1.2  Rates include accommodation in luxury suites, all meals, standard drinks, laundry, daily safari activities, transfers to and from the Rockfig Safari Lodge private airstrip, VAT, service charge, tourism levy and any other government taxes and levies not specifically, evacuation to the nearest suitable medical facility in the case of a medical emergency.

  • 1.3  Rates exclude purchases of a personal nature, premium brand drinks, Community visits and day trips outside of Timbavati, Timbavati conservation levies and self-drive entrance fees, unspecified transfers, gratuities, spa treatments (spa therapist can be booked on request).

  • 1.4  Children between the ages of 0 – 16 are accommodated at reduced rates, subject to room sharing options listed on RockFig Safari Lodge’s rate sheet.

  • 1.5  Single Supplement:50% Single Supplement will appy to rooms booked with 1 guest The Single supplement fee will be waived for 1 single in a group booking of 3 rooms. 

  • 1.6  Guides & Pilots are offered dedicated accommodation at reduced rates when accompanying full paying guests. Pilots and guides may join safari activities provided there is space on a vehicle with their guests and guests approve of the pilot/guide joining the safari activity. For bookings of 1-4 full paying guests, 1 pilot/guide will be accommodated at reduced rates. For bookings of 5 or more full paying guests, maximum 2 per booking.

  • 1.7  Trade educational enquiries shall be assessed individually. Educational rates apply.

  • 1.8  RockFig Safari Lodge reserves the right to amend its rates and General Terms & Conditions of Sale without prior

    notice. Confirmed bookings shall be honoured at all times.

2 BOOKING, PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICIES

  • 2.1  Booking process: Provisional reservations will be held for a maximum of seven days, after which a deposit of 20% will be required for confirmation. Rockfig Safari Lodge reserves the right to extend the provisional booking period at its sole discretion. Payment of the balance will be due 60 days prior to travel. Bookings with 60 days or less to travel require full payment upon confirmation.

  • 2.2  Payments: All payments shall be made in South African Rand and shall be made by means of an electronic funds transfer into the following bank account, or as otherwise directed by Rockfig Safari Lodge in writing:

    Payment shall be made without deduction or set-off, with bank charges for the account of the sender.

  • 2.3  Cancellations: Rockfig Safari Lodge reserves the right to cancel any reservation based on the non-payment of either the deposit or the balance of payment, without notice. Such cancellation may attract cancellation fees as set out hereunder.
    In the event of a reservation being cancelled by or on behalf of the traveller in writing after Rockfig Safari Lodge has issued confirmation, the following cancellations fees will apply:

  • Cancellations made with more than 60 days to travel do not attracht a cancellation fee.

  • Cancellations made with 60 days or less to travel forfeit the full payment.
    No refunds are made for missed services, except in verifiable extenuating circumstances. Verifiable claims will only be considered if received in writing within thirty (30) days of the service being missed, and any refunds made will be at the discretion of Rockfig Safari Lodge. In case of a refund, bank charges will be for the recipient’s account.

  • 2.4  Communications: All communications relating to bookings, enquiries, payments and cancellations shall be directed to the Rockfig Safari Lodge reservations department in writing, by email to reservations@rockfigsafarilodge.com.

  • 2.5  Dietary, Medical & Special Celebrations: All travellers shall communicate any dietary or medical restrictions as well as any special celebrations during their time at RockFig Safari Lodge to RockFig Safari Lodge’s reservations office via email (reservations@rockfigsafarilodge.com) at least 14 days prior to arrival. RockFig afari Lodge will be able to cater for most health-imposed dietary restrictions but cannot guarantee that religious or voluntary dietary restrictions can be met

    3 OPERATIONAL POLICIES

  • 3.1  Indemnity & Personal Details: All guests are required to complete and sign the Guest Detail & Indemnity Form on

    arrival and allow RockFig Safari Lodge to make a photocopy of their valid passport.

  • 3.2  Check-in and Check-out: Guests may check in at Rockfig Safari Lodge from 14h00 on the scheduled day of arrival. Guests must check out from Rockfig Safari Lodge by 10h00 on the scheduled day of departure. Early check-in and late check-out shall be accommodated at Rockfig Safari Lodge’s sole discretion, subject to availability, and may attract additional charges.

  • 3.3  Game drive vehicles: Rockfig Safari Lodge’s open safari vehicles are shared between guests, with a maximum of four guests per vehicle. Family bookings (minimum 3 travellers with at least 1 child between 0 – 16 years) and Group bookings (minimum 4 travellers) will be allocated an exclusive-use vehicle at no additional charge. A second vehicle will be made available when the Family or Group constitutes 7 or more full paying guests (i.e. pilots and guides are not counted).

  • 3.4  Children on safari: RockFig Safari Lodge accommodates children of all ages. Whereas families are guaranteed their private game drive vehicle, children of all ages can join game drives at the discretion of the RockFig Safari Lodge guide. Walking safaris are available to guests aged 14 or older.

  • 4 INSURANCE, LIABLITY & ADVISORY

  • 4.1  Travel Insurance: It is the responsibility of each visitor to RockFig Safari Lodge to ensure that adequate and comprehensive travel insurance is in place from the time of confirmation of a booking at RockFig Safari Lodge and that details of such insurance are available during the time of travel. Such travel insurance must cover the visitor against all risks including but not limited to costs of cancellation and curtailment, damage, delay, evacuation, medical treatment, hospitalization, illness, inconvenience, injury, loss, repatriation and theft. RockFig Safari Lodge cannot accept any liability for any of these events under any circumstances. All visitors to RockFig Safari Lodge are covered for evacuation to the nearest suitable medical facility in the case of a medical emergency. Such evacuation does not cover medical expenses and may be subject to agreement of the injured party to be treated at a private hospital as directed by the medical evacuation services, at the cost of the injured party.

  • 4.2  Safety: Safari activities and visits to a safari area and/or a safari camp, place visitors in close proximity to wild animals and expose visitors to the hazards of such environment. Whilst every care is taken by RockFig Safari Lodge to avoid any incident, RockFig Safari Lodge bears no responsibility whatsoever for any loss, injury, illness, death, delays, cancellations or changes to an itinerary and retains the right to alter, amend or cancel any part of a safari at RockFig Safari Lodge with just reason.

  • 4.3  Force Majeure: RockFig Safari Lodge shall not be held responsible for any force majeure events beyond the reasonable control of Rockfig Safari Lodge, including but without limitations acts of god, exclusions, flood, fire or accident, war or threat of war, sabotage or civil disturbance, the occurrence of which may result in the cancellation of travel. Rockfig Safari Lodge shall not be deemed to be in breach, or be otherwise liable for its non- performance to the extent that any such delay or non-performance is due to any force majeure. Rockfig Safari Lodge shall be entitled, at its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel or amend any reservation if it is so affected by a force majeure, and shall use reasonable endeavours to refund the travellers, subject to deducting the actual and potential costs incurred by Rockfig Safari Lodge.

  • 4.4  Travel Advisory: Visitors are recommended to check with their Foreign Offices, Consular section and travel agent for current visa requirements, travel, health and safety advisories. All travellers must comply with the necessary visa, child-travel documents and health requirements that are applicable for travelling to South Africa. Rockfig Safari Lodge shall not be liable in any way if a guest fails to take the necessary medical precautions or obtain the necessary visa, or if a guest is denied entry into South Africa for any reason whatsoever.

  • 4.5  Medical: A) We recommend that travellers to Africa keep all inoculations for tropical diseases up to date. B) The Timbavati Nature Reserve is situated in an area deemed a malaria area. Travellers must seek advice from their doctor and/or travel clinic on the use of anti-malarial prophylactics.
