Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival & Mokoro Sunset
Welcome to Jumbo Junction, your gateway to the delta! Arrive around noon to a warm welcome and a delicious lunch, followed by some time to unwind and settle into your surroundings.
At approx. 4pm, embark on a serene mokoro excursion, gliding through the tranquil channels of the floodplains as the sun dips below the horizon. Enjoy a refreshing sundowner while marveling at the changing colors of the delta.
Return to camp for a special dinner at approx. 7pm, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to engage with representatives from CLAWS and ECO-EXIST, community development. learning about their vital work in conservation and community development.
Day 2: Conservation in Action
Kickstart your day with coffee and homemade rusks before heading out to visit the Cattle Boma of CLAWS, an innovative initiative aimed at reducing human-wildlife conflict. Around 9:30am, enjoy a packed breakfast in the field before continuing to Eco-Exist’s Cluster Farming Initiatives. Gain insight into sustainable farming practices that benefit both people and wildlife.
Return to camp by noon, where a hearty lunch awaits at approx. 1pm. After some rest, set off on a peaceful boat cruise from approx. 4pm to 6pm, enjoying a sundowner as you explore the delta’s waterways. Conclude your day with a relaxing dinner back at camp.

Day 3: Lion Tracking Adventure
Rise early for an exhilarating day of lion tracking with CLAWS. Witness firsthand the critical efforts to monitor and protect these magnificent predators. Break for a bush brunch in the heart of the delta, followed by a restful siesta under the shade of ancient trees. In the afternoon, continue your lion-tracking adventure before returning to Jumbo Junction for dinner at approx. 7pm, reflecting on your unforgettable encounters.
Day 4: Wildlife & Elephant Encounters
Start your morning with coffee and homemade rusks at approx. 6am before embarking on a thrilling game drive. Enjoy a packed breakfast surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush before returning to camp by approx. 12:30pm for lunch and a well-deserved rest.
In the afternoon, venture to Eretsha for the inspiring Friends with Elephants tour with Eco-Exist. Depending on your preferences, a scenic helicopter flight transfer can add an extra layer of adventure. After a day filled with meaningful experiences, return to camp for dinner at approx. 7pm.
Day 5: Village Life & Mokoro FIshing
Wake up at approx. 7am for breakfast at approx. 8am before taking a unique donkey cart tour of the local village from approx. 9:30am to approx. 11am. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of the community. Lunch will be served at a charming coffee shop in the village, offering a taste of local flavors.
Return to camp for some rest before heading out on a mokoro fishing trip with local fisherman or an adventurous island bush walk in the floodplains. Wrap up your day with an early sundowner dinner at the Bush Camp, followed by an exhilarating night game drive, where you’ll uncover the nocturnal wonders of the delta.
Day 6: A Full Day of Delta Exploration
Rise early at approx. 6 am for coffee and homemade rusks before setting out on a full-day wildlife safari. Your adventure includes a packed breakfast and lunch, as well as a bush walk to connect more intimately with nature.
Take a restful siesta under the trees, surrounded by the sounds of the wild. End the day with a magical island sundowner dinner, soaking in the beauty of the delta at dusk.
Day 7: Final Adventures & Farewell
On your last morning, wake up at approx. 7am for a farewell activity tailored to your departure schedule. Choose between a breathtaking horseback ride through the floodplains or a thrilling doors-off scenic helicopter flip for one final view of the delta. Enjoy breakfast before bidding Jumbo Junction farewell, taking with you cherished memories of this extraordinary experience.
