With our safaris, you won’t just see Zimbabwe — you’ll feel it. Meet its people, walk its wild places, and create a lasting connection with the land. This is Africa, as it should be experienced.

Hwange National Park Zimbabwes Wild Heartbeat

Zimbabwe’s flagship reserve, Hwange National Park, stretches over 14,600 square kilometres near the Botswana border. It is a landscape of sweeping savannahs, teak woodlands, and ancient elephant paths — home to over 100 mammal species and more than 400 bird species.

Renowned for hosting one of Africa’s largest elephant populations, Hwange also supports healthy numbers of lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, buffalo, sable, and roan antelope. The park’s solar-powered waterholes are lifelines during the dry season, attracting impressive concentrations of wildlife from July to October.

Activities include game drives, guided walks, and time in photographic hides. Just two hours from Victoria Falls, Hwange is both accessible and wildly rewarding. Accommodation ranges from rustic tented retreats to indulgent lodges — each offering an immersive and unforgettable stay.

Itinerary Overview

DAY 1: Arrival & First Encounters

After breakfast, you’ll be collected from your accommodation in Victoria Falls and transferred to the airport for your seat-in-charter flight to Hwange.

On arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our team. After light refreshments and a quick orientation, you'll board safari vehicles for a game drive transfer into the heart of your private wilderness: Malindi Station Camp.

Malindi Station Camp – Where Vintage Romance Meets Wild Africa

Tucked within a private 25-square-kilometre concession bordering Hwange National Park, Malindi Station is an enchanting blend of history and wilderness. At its core, six beautifully restored railway carriages serve as luxurious en-suite accommodations — a nostalgic tribute to the golden age of African travel.

Each carriage offers vintage elegance with modern comforts, all set against the raw beauty of Zimbabwe’s bushveld. The camp’s guest area, beneath a cool thatch roof, invites you to relax, dine, and reflect as wildlife gathers at the nearby private waterhole.

After settling in and enjoying a light meal, you might relax in your carriage, take a dip in the splash pool, or simply sit under the thatch and soak in the view.

Around 15:00, high tea is served, followed by an afternoon game drive and sundowners. As we are located within a private concession, we are permitted to drive after dark — increasing your chances of spotting elusive nocturnal wildlife.

Return to camp after dark, freshen up, and enjoy a hearty dinner, followed by a nightcap around the fire. The floodlit waterhole offers the chance to witness wildlife well into the evening — a magical end to your first day in Hwange.

DAYS 2 & 3: Immersion in the Wild

Wake to the sounds of the bush and a tray of tea or coffee delivered to your carriage. After a light snack, set off on a morning game drive or — for the adventurous — an unforgettable walking safari.

Malindi Station prides itself on its exceptional on-foot experiences, led by highly trained and armed professional guides. A walking safari reveals the subtleties of the ecosystem: the tracks, calls, scents, and signs that tell the story of the wild.

Return to camp for a delicious breakfast or brunch, followed by well-deserved relaxation — a nap, a book, a swim, or quiet time watching wildlife at the waterhole.

In the afternoon, enjoy high tea before heading out once again to explore the concession and Hwange’s vast wilderness. As dusk descends, we’ll stop for sundowners before continuing into the evening, seeking out Africa’s iconic nocturnal species.

Back at camp, enjoy a leisurely dinner and a drink around the fire under a canopy of stars. The floodlit waterhole often brings a surprise or two before you drift off to sleep in your timeless carriage.

DAY 4: Farewell to the Wild

Your final morning begins with the usual tea or coffee tray and a light bite. Head out on one last early game drive, soaking in the sights and sounds of the bush.

After a final breakfast back at camp, you’ll be transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight back to Victoria Falls — carrying with you a heart full of memories, and perhaps a touch of the wild still in your soul.

Malindi Station Camp is not just a safari stop — it’s a poetic journey into Africa’s past and present, where nostalgia, nature, and soul converge.

Let us take you there.
