Legendary Serengeti Camp: West
Legendary Serengeti Camp is a mobile unit that travels through the Greater Serengeti Ecosystem each year from June until April, with premier sites in the northern, western, and southern corners of Tanzania’s largest national park.
The camp’s location is dictated by the thundering hoofs of the Great Migration: set in Southern Serengeti in the exclusive Maswa Game Reserve from December through April, the camp offers a prime access to the miraculous calving season. It relocates to Western Serengeti from mid-May to mid-July, following the wildebeest as they pause to rut on their annual pilgrimage northward. At the top tip of the Serengeti, the camp is set up on the Mara River, site of the famed river crossings, from mid-July through November.
With a private vehicle and guide for each couple, group or solo traveller, the sense of having the Serengeti to oneself is a luxury the camp takes pride in affording its guests. No one who has had the chance to see nearly two million animals on the move can fail to be awed by its magic – and conjuring this astounding encounter with one of Nature’s most dazzling spectacles is the very premise on which Legendary Serengeti Camp is based.
