Okonjima's Campsite

Nestled among the Omboroko Mountains lies Okonjima, which means 'Place of the Baboons' in the native Herero tongue. The Omboroko Campsite has 4 private campsites, all sharing one secluded swimming-pool, 2 open-air showers with hot water, 2 flush toilets, washing-up area, sundowner view point, fire wood and electricity. Activities offered on Okonjima range from Tracking Leopards from a game-view vehicle; Tracking rehabilitated Cheetah on foot; Tracking rehabilitated Spotted Hyaena on foot; Tracking rehabilitated Wild Dog on foot , Guided walking / Bushman trail as well as a visit to AfriCat’s Carnivore Care and Information Centre. Not only is Okonjima a luxury lodge, but it is also home to The AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organisation, committed to long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores, especially cheetahs leopards and lions. A visit to Okonjima will give you an opportunity to witness some of AfriCat's work.

Campsites for individual travellers and small groups include private ablution facilities, undercover scullery and dining area, a sundowner view point, fire wood, communal swimming pool, electricity

(220V - AC , plugs for charging & fridges), one fixed spotlight for cooking, 2-plate gas stove Designed for 2-10 persons / site.

PLEASE NOTE: clients must provide their own food, all camping gear, and sleeping items. Activities needs to be booked directly at the Lodge or at the campsite on arrival. Meals at the lodges need to be pre-booked on arrival, subject to availability.

Tented Campsite PAWS for groups

Our tented campsite offers the following facilities: 10 rustic domed tents with 2x single beds each, private ablution, two undercover dining areas, a sundowner view point, private waterhole, fire wood, electricity plug points (220V - AC for charging & fridges) and braai area with a fixed
spotlight for cooking and packing, 2-plate gas stove. Designed for groups.

PLEASE NOTE: clients must provide their own food, toiletries and bedding. Activities need to be booked directly at the Lodge or Campsite on arrival. Meals at the lodges need to be pre-booked on arrival, subject to availability
