Legogote Mountain is also known as the 'Sentinel of the Lowveld' as it was used as a navigational landmark in days gone by. It is also known as 'Lion's Head' or the 'Sleeping Lioness'. It has huge spiritual and cultural significance to the local Swazi people in the area, and they believe that 'If you live in the shadow of Legogote, that your life will always be blessed'!

umSisi House is 20 minutes from the Numbi Gate entrance to the Kruger National Park. Leading local operators, and their experienced guides, offer private day safaris in game viewing vehicles. These vehicles are hired on a daily basis and the guides are trained to identify everything from the smallest dung beetle to the great African Elephant!

umSisi House is named after the Lucky Bean Tree or Sacred Coral Tree whose SiSwati name is umSisi. This magical tree is indigenous to the area. The umSisi House trademark logo is a stylised interpretation of the distinctive flowers that bloom in early spring. An avenue of umSisi Trees have been planted along the drive up to the house.

Set in 60 hectares of pristine bush, within the Jock of the Bushveld Conservancy, umSisi House is strategically located in the Peebles Valley between the town of White River and the southern Gates into the Kruger National Park (20 mins away). umSisi House offers a personal service that only a small, privately owned and managed, five-star, country house villa and gourmet getaway can provide. This is the perfect destination for groups of friends and family wishing to visit South Africa's Kruger Lowveld region, the Panorama Route and enjoy the many adventure activities available in the immediate area.
The house ONLY caters for private groups on an exclusive-use basis (minimum 2 and maximum 10 guests; with a minimum charge for the first 4 guests) on either a DBB or Full Board basis. It is particularly suitable for those looking for luxury accommodation near the Kruger National Park either as a base from which to explore the Kruger (particularly for families travelling with young children who cannot book into the lodges with age restrictions) or as relaxing break pre or post safari.
With panoramic views of Legogote Mountain and the African village of Masoyi, guests at umSisi House enjoy beautiful gardens, majestic trees, abundant birdlife, hiking trails, a relaxing jacuzzi, inviting swimming pool, enormous veranda, stunning interiors, extensive library, WiFi internet throughout and a state-of-the-art TV Room when at home. A booking service for local activities (including bespoke Kruger safaris in open game-viewers) is also provided.
