Leroo La Tau, by Desert & Delta Safaris, is beautifully situated above the Boteti River, which forms the western boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. This prime location is renowned for attracting large herds of zebras—up to 30,000—and wildebeests who come to drink from the river, along with elephants, crocodiles, and other surprising wildlife sightings right in front of the lodge.
The lodge accommodates up to 24 guests in 11 luxurious en suite chalets and a Family Suite, featuring two interleading en suite rooms. Each thatched and glass-fronted chalet includes a private viewing deck offering unobstructed river views, where guests can often watch wildlife in action. From May to October, the incredible zebra migration can be observed from both the chalets and the main lodge areas.
The main area of Leroo La Tau includes a boma and fire pit set atop the cliffs of the Boteti River Valley, a photographic hide for both daytime and night time viewing, and the option for private dining upon request.
The lodge also offers a dining room, curio shop, swimming pool, reading room, and several indoor and outdoor seating areas by the bar. Expansive wooden decks seamlessly connect the lodge to its natural surroundings.
Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, including game drives in Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, cultural visits to Khumaga Village, and day trips to *Nxai Pan and *Baines Baobabs. Depending on water levels, motorboat safaris are also available.
For those seeking a truly memorable experience, the *Makgadikgadi Salt Pans Sleep-Out is offered from 15 June to 31 October.
*Inclusive for guests staying three nights or more (subject to availability and booking). Scenic helicopter transfers and customised journeys are also available as part of Desert & Delta Safaris’ Epic Experiences collection (surcharges apply).
Leroo La Tau offers a once-in-a-lifetime safari adventure, guided expertly and delivered with soul.
