Introduction

28 Sep 2018 - 8 Oct 2018

This exciting Photographic Safari is guided by Award Winning Professional Wildlife Photographer Tom Way.

Traveling as part of a small and exclusive group of 6, you will be staying in two of Zambia's best known luxury camps which offer spectacular views from your stylish tented en suite accommodation situated in prime positions alongside the Luangwa River.

During the safari you will be personally guided by Tom, who will be working in conjunction with Norman Carr Safaris famed wildlife guides to ensure that you are in the right place at the best time to maximise your sightings.

Very importantly this trip is planned to coincide with the peak of the dry season, when game is drawn to the shrinking river under the gaze of predators.

South Luangwa National Park is renowned for being one of the greatest wildlife destinations in Africa. This unspoilt wilderness plays host to huge concentrations of wildlife including Elephants, Hippo, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion and over 450 species of birds. It is also a prolific area for photographing Leopard. Perfect for all levels of wildlife photographer, be it first time users or more advanced, wishing to take stunning photographs.

Help And Guidance:

One of the most important factors of a photographic safari is that you receive as much help and guidance as required. You will receive personal coaching on this trip and Tom will assist you with every step and be in the vehicle with you on all of your game drives to ensure that you are taking stunning wildlife images. Whilst in the vehicle, Tom will be in constant communication with our driver to position ourselves in the best spot for your photographs taking into account the lighting and background. He will be able to give advice regarding what settings to use at different sightings and also advice regarding compositions.

During the afternoons and the heat of the day when most of the wildlife is seeking shade, Tom gives various talks and presentations about taking wildlife images on safari. We cover topics such as capturing character, shooting in different lightings conditions and looking for the perfect backgrounds. Tom also gives a processing session and shows you how to go about processing your images in Adobe Lightroom that you have taken on safari.

Each day you will be offered the opportunity of reviewing your images on a laptop with Tom on a 1-1 basis. He can discuss with you what areas to improve on for the next drive whilst also covering any technical questions your have regarding your camera set up. In these review sessions he will also help and advise you on processing your images. The entire safari is tailored in such a way so that you are able to learn as much as possible from Tom during your holiday and that you will leave with your photography skills improved.
