This itinerary encompasses some of the best experiences that Uganda has to offer, designed specifically for adventure lovers and nature enthusiasts. It includes a combinational experience of trekking jungles and forests in search of some serious monkey business, traversing the savannahs for unique wildlife including the famous Tree Climbing Lions, and be sure to have your bird book ready to spot some of the 660 bird species in the park. Mountain hiking - 3 of the 5 top African peaks in the 'Mountains of the Moon', reaching 5,106m on one of the days, and ending this adventure with an exhilarating ride down the rapids of the river Nile.
Highlights include:
PRIMATES:
- Mountain Gorilla Trekking
- Golden Monkey Trekking
- Chimpanzee trekking
- If you lucky - Colobus monkeys in the Rwenzoris
MOUNTAIN EXPEDITIONS:
Travellers will be truly in awe of the hiking experiences on offer with the Mgahinga Mountain Range in southern Uganda, and the Rwenzoris, known as the 'Mountains of the Moon' and is also Africa’s top hiking destination, holding three of the continent’s five highest peaks. The summits are spectacular, the routes are uncrowded and the high-altitude forest teems with life and beautiful nature sightings.
SAVANNAH LIFE:
Travellers will have the opportunity to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is one of the county’s most popular parks. Volcanic craters, grassy plains, tropical forest and giant lakes connected by a channel inhabited by abundant hippos, are what you will see at the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is famous for it's tree climbing lions, and has almost 100 types of mammal and 606 different bird species, including the peculiar shoebill. Other wildlife includes buffalo, the rare aquatic sitatunga antelope, giant forest hog, Uganda kob, Defassa waterbuck, chimpanzees and elephant. Topping it off with cruise on the Kazinga Channel.
WHITE WATER RAFTING:
The White Nile has up to seven times the volume of the Zambezi. It thunders between heavily forested islands and then leaps widely into a series of spectacular drops. You will plunge into the rapids and ride the mountainous waves downstream whilst relaxing and swimming in warm pools in the equatorial sunshine during parts of the trip. This is white water rafting at its best!
