VEHICLE: 4 x 4 Rental self-drive with back-up vehicle with guide and assistant
DURATION: 8 night / 9 days - 3 nights rooftop camping and 5 nights lodge accommodation
This guided self- drive 4X4 tour is designed to give the novice, intermediate or experienced adventurer a look into the real South Africa. We travel on the lesser known, often gravel roads through areas of the country that are not generally visited by tourists.
Our small convoy of 4×4 vehicles is led by an experienced, knowledgeable guide and assistant who are in constant radio contact and who are there to assist with every step of the adventure. Overnight stops have been carefully chosen for their remote locations, some nights we will stay in comfortable lodges and where no facilities exist we will use the equipment on our vehicles to ensure maximum experience and comfort.
The tour offers the safety and camaraderie of traveling in a group but at the same time each vehicle is independent, it is thus suitable for families, couples and even individuals. The crew lead the convoy, travelling in their own 4×4 and are always there to assist.
The tour requires a certain amount of flexibility and an adventurous mentality. Road, weather and other conditions are not always predictable and so we should expect the unexpected. Each day’s drive is easily achievable and we will enjoy many stops along the way.
