Introduction

Welcome to our very successful anual set date safari to Tanzania. Starting in Kilimanjaro on the 24th November 2018
This is a highly personalised and very informal safari which aims to enjoy the wildlife experience as much as possible with lots of game drives and walking safaris (optional) using the best camps for the areas we visit and taking advantage of great local guides.

We have made fine tuned the itinerary to make the best use of our days on safari and to reduce travel times whilst ensuring you experience Tanzania at ground level and bring the whole safari to life with the assistance of our tour leader Tony McKeith and an expert Tanzanian escorting driver/guide.

This exciting safari is planned for November, the time of the short rains a dramatic and great time to be on safari. Yes, we may get rained on but possibly wont see a drop.

We will begin our safari at Oliver's Camp in the Tarangire. This camp is for safari enthusiasts wanting a more authentic safari experience off the main tourist route. The wildlife is classic east African big game with herds of Buffalo, Elephant and healthy population of predators. Birding in November is especially interesting with the arrival of returning migratory species.

We will explore on game drives and have chance to take a walking safari if you wish. This rugged landscape offers a unique safari backdrop of rolling grasslands, swamps and forests of enigmatic baobab trees.
From Tarangire we will travel via Lake Manyara. This journey will give you a great in-site in to life in rural Tanzania. We will spend a full day on safari in the Iconic Ngorongoro Crater in search of Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo and so much more, it is estimated to be the most intensive safari game viewing area on earth.
Our safari then moves to the Serengeti. Camp Zebra really fits with the Close Encounters ethos. Created for safari enthusiasts it offers very good levels of comfort but the real attraction is the exclusivity in secluded surroundings, excellent guiding and a more intense wildlife experience.

This area of the Serengeti is home to some of the highest concentrations of hyena in Africa and clans of up to 30 are regularly spotted scavenging on kills.

During the stay here you get to explore the plains with local expert guides, on morning and afternoon game drives; including at least one full day in the bush. We can enjoy a sunrise breakfasts in the bush and sundowners on top of a Rock Kopje.

With just 6 spaces (4 remaining) If you would like to join this safari please call or email soon and we will be happy to provide you with more information. Book now .
