Introduction

There's no better way to explore all that Iceland has to offer than onboard a luxury yacht. This ten day itinerary starts in the metropolitan capital of Reykjavik, continuing on to the explore the glaciers, fjords, hot springs, volcanoes and lava fields of the Snaefellsness Peninsula and the Westfjords.  Step back in time on Flatey Island, a small island in the middle of the fjord, and a great dining and hiking destination. The summit of Kirkjufell Mountain is the next stop, and although attainable, it isn't a trek for the faint-hearted.   Snæfellsjökull rises 1446 meters above sea level. This glacier-topped volcano is where Jules Verne set a passage leading to the center of the Earth in his popular novel Journey to the Center of the Earth. Mystics from all over the world have visited the Snæfellsjökull claiming it is one of the Earth’s seven sources of spiritual energy.

From there, it's off to Iceland’s Westfjords or West Fjords. Situated in the north-west of the island. It is a large peninsula in the Denmark Strait, facing the east coast of Greenland. In the south, visitors can discover the beautiful Rauðasandur beach, featuring endless golden sands; take a warming soak in the local hot springs of Krossholt near Brjánslækir and visit Látrabjarg - Europe’s westernmost point. Other highlights include: Dynjandi; the largest waterfall in the Westfjords and one of the most photogenic falls in Iceland; as well as Thingeyri village, home to a replica Viking ship and village. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the north of the peninsula characterized by high, steep mountains - excellent for winter skiing and great summer views, soak up epic views from Bolafjall; and in the east, don’t miss a visit to the witchcraft museum in Hólmavík.
