Los Quetzales park offers a different kind of experience. You will hike around 2 hours and enjoy the climate cool and fresh, the park is typically entrenched in a haze of thick clouds. Moss-covered hardwoods, alpine plants, highland birds, and other flora and fauna that live only at such extreme elevations. The flora and fauna are a lot different from what you’ll see at lower altitudes. In the montane and premontane forest lives a multitude of birds and animals, many of which don’t exist anywhere else in Costa Rica. More than 200 species of birds have been spotted in the park like Respledent Quetzal, trogans, hummingbirds, redstarts, wrens, and woodpeckers.
