From the gates of Machu Picchu, a quiet ascent begins. In the company of your local guide, follow stone steps that rise steadily toward Machu Picchu Mountain, a trail that traces the upper flanks of the citadel and occasionally follows the original Inca route. At the summit, a wide panoramic view opens over the valley and the site below, allowing a deeper sense of place and scale. The way back unfolds at a slower pace, with time to take in the stillness and surrounding peaks.
Please allow up to four hours hiking and up to five hours for the entire experience.
You must show your passport in order to be allowed to enter Machu Picchu Citadel.
