Take a short walk from your hotel, followed by a 20-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu citadel (8,000 ft. – 2,432 m.a.s.l.) only if you're staying down in the village. Enjoy the privileged view of Machu Picchu from the principal entrance Inti Punku (Sun gate) without having to hike the Inca Trail.  This easy to moderate hike follows the path taken by the Incas in reverse, allowing the lucky few to marvel at what would have been a travellers first impression upon entering this ceremonial site. No special entrance is required, just the desire to explore a little deeper the mysteries of Machu Picchu.

Please allow approximately up to two hours hiking and three hours for the entire experience | You must show your passport in order to be allowed to enter Machu Picchu Citadel.
