Our tour begins in Muizenberg, the 'Surf Mecca' of False Bay. Enjoy the long stretch of beach, dotted with the infamous colourful bathing huts, iconic on images of the area.

From here, we wind our way along the beautiful coastline, to the charismatic village of Kalk Bay, best known for its working fishing harbour and bohemian feel. Browse the arts and crafts on offer, perhaps do a bit of shopping in the quirky fashion boutiques and enjoy the antiques and collectables along the main strip. Get a feel for the local fisherman community at the harbour where you will encounter a few seals eagerly awaiting fish scraps as the boats come in.

Next, we’ll head over to Simon’s Town to search for our own rogue penguins – a splinter colony far from the crowded boardwalks over the main breeding site, on a lesser known beach frequented mostly by locals only.

For lunch, we will head over to the whole earth café in the heart of the seaside town of Scarborough. You will enjoy a healthy, delicious lunch made using fresh ingredients that are ethically and locally sourced.

For those keen to find out more about the rich history surrounding this naval town, the museums and monuments provide plenty of insight into this historical harbour town.

Our tour continues with a gentle hike and exploration in the Cape Peninsula Reserve, discovering secluded beaches, shipwrecks and this region’s unique wildlife. The return journey weaves back to Cape Town via Noordhoek, stopping for some superb wine tasting at Cape Point Vineyards, producer of some of South Africa’s finest Sauvignon Blanc.

To head back to your hotel, we will drive along Chapman's Peak Drive, a spectacular road which hugs the near-vertical face of the mountain, with 114 curves all along the Atlantic Ocean.
