Quasar designed this full-day picnic and outdoors-style adventure for families with children or even young guests or nature enthusiasts. Antisana´s most famous visitor was the famous german scientist, Alexander Von Humboldt. His hut where he spend a few days in one of his journeys of discovery across Ecuador when it was part of the Spanish Empire is still in the park. Father of modern sciences especially those related to biology, he described the volcano as part of a living thing. Above all, he witnessed the adaptation of plants to the extreme living conditions of the moorlands, from that now is to be found in thousands of gradations.

Our first visit is across the walls of a natural canyon, a perfect location for spotting condors, caracaras falcons, Black-faced ibis, and as incredible as it sounds in such cold altitudes, hummingbirds. Later, we continue to the moorlands, where the landscape of the Antisana National Park, altogether with other volcanoes, the giant Cotopaxi and Sincholagua volcanoes, and the Mica Lake creates a magnificent contrast between the massive immobile rocks and the living carpet of vegetation that covers the skeleton with more tender flesh. We might cross paths with wildlife such as wild bulls, Andean foxes, and rabbits among others.

After a luxury picnic in the moorlands, time to enjoy a last hike in the beautiful moorlands before we depart back to Quito.
