Tour Description and Highlights:

• After a scenic ascent via cableway, you will embark on a guided loop hike to Maclear's Beacon, the highest point of Table Mountain at 1,086 metres. This remarkable site features a 19th-century trigonometrical beacon, constructed by surveyor Andrew Maclear, which was used to measure the Earth's curvature.  
• The hike to Maclear's iconic stone cairn offers stunning views from various vantage points along the route. Your knowledgeable guides will serve as walking, talking maps, highlighting key landmarks and points of interest throughout Cape Town.  
• With their in-depth local knowledge, the mountain will come alive as you explore the captivating history of Cape Town, unravel the mysteries of Table Mountain's geology, and discover the unique plant and animal species that inhabit its slopes.  
• You will also enjoy our signature “trailside tea” at a scenic overlook, where you can replenish your energy with quintessentially South African snacks and a selection of hot beverages in winter or refreshing iced tea (with ice!) in summer.  
• The guided loop hike concludes at the Upper Cableway, where you will enjoy a scenic descent in the cable car.
