This ride begins in Camps Bay and follows the coastal road through Hout Bay towards the Peninsula. Once a small fishing village, Hout Bay is now a beautiful seaside town curving around a lively working harbour. At the edge of Hout Bay the road climbs up along Chapman’s Peak Drive – one of South Africa’s most famous stretches of tar, and certainly one of the most scenic roads in the world.

With the impressive Chapman’s Peak on your left, you’ll ride down into the picturesque rural valley of Noordhoek, and continue towards Cape Point Nature Reserve further along the Peninsula. The route hugs the Atlantic coastline, passing Misty Cliffs before turning inland towards the Indian Ocean. Ride over Red Hill to join the main road between Simon’s Town and Fish Hoek. From here, cycle towards Fish Hoek and up Black Hill, linking back to Noordhoek. Stop for lunch at café Roux in the Noordhoek Farm Village before tackling Chapman’s Peak Drive once again. Cruise back down through Hout Bay to finish in Camps Bay.
