We depart from the tiny port of Punta Bandera, 47 km from the city of El Calafate, where we board a comfortable, modern catamaran and set out to navigate the northern arm of Lake Argentino. This is the perfect gateway to the huge 60km long, 9km wide ice cap that leads us to the Upsala Channel. As we cruise smoothly along the lake, we meet a spectacular ice barrier bringing our catamaran to a standstill as we appreciate our first breathtaking panoramic glimpse of the Upsala Glacier. Watch in wonder as large chunks of ice tumble into the water below, surfacing to become icebergs that float effortlessly on the lake in front of us. The cruise continues to Spegazzini Channel where we will be able to observe Seco, Peineta and Heim sur glaciers on the way to Spegazzini Glacier the highest on National Park.
To crown this moment, we will descend to the Spegazzini Base, right in front of the glacier, to enjoy our modern Spegazzini Hut, where you can enjoy a 3-step menu.
