This alternative mode of travel adds a fun, active twist to your day in the valley.
After your ride, continue into Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s oldest towns. Begin your walk on historic Dorp Street, where the architecture tells stories of the past and Cape Dutch façades line the road. Explore the town's vibrant core with its boutique shops, galleries, cafés, and a palpable sense of heritage.
Settle in for a relaxed lunch at a picturesque wine farm, where fine food and spectacular vineyard views come together. Expect seasonal, locally inspired dishes served in a serene setting.
After lunch, enjoy a curated wine tasting selected by your guide to suit your preferences. Whether it's the elegant reds at Rust en Vrede, the chocolate and wine pairing at Waterford, or a visit to Ken Forrester Wines with its focus on sustainability, the valley offers something for every palate. You may also explore one of the smaller, boutique wineries for a more intimate experience.
If time allows, conclude your day with a tasting at Winshaw Vineyards. Rich in family history and set just outside Stellenbosch, this estate produces exceptional wines alongside responsibly raised farm produce. It’s a fitting final toast before heading back to the city.
