Trip Summary

Explore the Peninsula via its inspirational people, flavours, and experiences. Taking in the stories, the aromas, the local dishes, and the vibe of this eclectic cosmopolitan city. Combine this with the great outdoors in this unique and spectacular habitat to explore one of the most unique marine habitats in the world.

We will start the day by heading towards the Surfers Mecca beach of Muizenberg for some photos, before stopping in the bohemian feel Kalk Bay for a coffee in one of our favourite bakeries/coffee shops. At Kalk Bay we will walk through this very quaint old holiday town filled with antique shops, galleries, craftsmen and vendors shouting as we go. Kalk Bay is a working fishing community filled with brightly coloured boats, some noisy seals, and even louder ladies hard at work processing the day’s catch!

From here, we will drive along the coast towards Simon’s Town, where we will search for our own rogue penguins – a splinter colony away from the crowded boardwalks over the main breeding site, on a beach known mostly to locals. Our penguin conservationist will take you on an educational and enlightening penguin walk on the walkways bordering the penguin sanctuary.

Next, we will head over to a few local restaurants in the heart of the seaside town of Scarborough. Here you will enjoy healthy, delicious snacks made using fresh ingredients that are ethically and locally sourced.

We will head out of the Cape Peninsula along the Atlantic Seaboard for a really unique hosted gourmet lunch experience, at a local chefs home - Chef Nicky Gibbs who has cheffed for some rockstars around the world will host you in her personal home for a delicious set menu fresh lunch paired with botanical teas with ingredients foraged from her garden. Expect a feast for the senses in a beautiful setting with expansive views out onto Noordhoek Valley.

After the delicate lunch at the Chef's home we will head to the Noordhoek Farm Village, we can enjoy a decadent local ice cream and stroll around the boutique souvenir shops.

Travel back to Cape Town over the scenic coastal toll road of Chapman’s Peak with dramatic landscapes and incredible ocean and mountain views.
