For those with limited time in Port Elizabeth, you can enjoy a Big 5 day safari at Amakhala Game Reserve which is only 60 minutes from Port Port Elizabeth. You get to experience this unique reserve whilst being guided by an experienced Ranger on an open Land Rover, showing the diverse wildlife and landscape including: The Big 5, Black Wildebeest, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra and numerous other antelope. Ask your driver to end your day with a short orientation tour of Port Elizabeth as a bonus!
A basic timeline of your day:
08:15am – 08:30am: Collection from central Port Elizabeth hotels
08:30am – 09:30am: Private transfer to Amakhala Private Game Reserve
09:30am – 10:00am: Orientation meeting at game lodge.
10:00am – 1:00pm: Depart on your 3 – 3,5 hour Big 5 game drive in a open safari vehicle through the reserve spotting all kinds of animals big and small.
1:00pm – 2:00pm: Enjoy a 2 course lunch in the wonderful restaurant at the lodge.
2:00pm – 3:30pm: Return private road transfer back to your hotel.
