Trip Summary

Experience an insightful journey at the beach, where visitors are briefed on the plastic treatment process. Typically, the plastic is sent to Pedregal, where it is transformed into synthetic sand used for concrete production. Upon arrival, guests receive instructions regarding the activity and safety measures before boarding a shuttle to the beach entrance for the cleanup.

Engage in the cleanup and waste collection activity, followed by the sorting, selection, and weighing of materials. Afterward, guests have time to freshen up, cool off, and capture memories with photos. Then, enjoy a delicious lunch, rest, and bid farewell to the site.

Don't forget to bring along essentials such as a water bottle, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. Gloves and bags will be provided upon arrival.

Please note: The waste treatment center, currently under construction and expected to open in April, is slightly smaller than the dock used for the other tour. Nonetheless, it provides comfort and restroom facilities for the group. Lunches are prepared by community members; in case they are unavailable, lunch is sourced from a local restaurant.
