The Cape Peninsula is the place to explore as a family whilst in Cape Town. Rather than just zip past the Peninsula we are going to explore the ins and outs of the Peninsula itself through a series of short hikes.
Our journey will begin at the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, where we will explore the gardens and walk above the treetops on the Boomslang elevated walkway, enjoying a vantage point view of the city above the treetops.
From here, we will head to the scenic coastline and make our walk through the charismatic fishing village of Kalk Bay on our way to Simonstown to view the colony of African Penguins in their natural environment.
After the exciting morning of discoveries, we will enjoy a light wholesome lunch at the local Whole Earth Cafe in the quaint seaside village of Scarborough.
We will then continue towards the Cape Peninsula and into the Reserve where we’ll be on the hunt for the Cape 5 (Ostrich, Baboons, Mountain Zebra, Bontebok and Tortoise) and at Cape Point we will also spend our time exploring the beaches and shipwrecks for lost treasure.
On our way back towards the city, we will drive along the Atlantic Coastline, stopping at the Noordhoek Farm Village to enjoy a freshly brewed coffee or a delicious artisanal ice cream while browsing the craft shops.
You will be left in awe as we drive along Chapman's Peak with panoramic views over the region.
