TIDAL FLOAT DOWN MIDA CREEK & NATURE WALK

Just after full moon or new moon – during the spring tides – you have a tidal situation where water rushes out of Mida Creek and out to the sea - very quickly. You can join us for a ‘float’ – where you enter the water in a small channel in the mangroves and float with the outgoing tide. The trip takes about 3 hours and consists of 4 parts:

• Walk from Treehouse through the villages, surrounded by beautiful trees (cashew, mango, palm, neem) to get to the mangroves.

• Float through the mangroves as the channels get larger and larger…through Mida Creek and onwards the ocean ... and end up on a beautiful beach.

• A special Swahili Breakfast on the beach.

• A nature walk back to Watamu beach. The Reverse Float goes from the sea into the creek and consists of a 1 hour float a 1 hour magical mangrove walk back to Treehouse This activity will only be offered at the correct tide and after evaluation of the level of participant’s confidence in the water.

THIS IS ONLY POSSIBLE A FEW DAYS A MONTH (When the Tide is Present)

What is included

• Float, breakfast, 2 walks, guides,, towels, transport, lifejacket or flotation devices, water Not included: • KWS park tickets – necessary if you snorkel.

What you should bring

• Hat and sunblock, shoes that can get wet, camera for walk.
