A trip to see some of Quito’s alternative attractions. We start with a trip to experience the hustle & bustle of a colourful local market; next up is a visit to a traditional Quito confectioner to see their method of production and sample the delicious sweets; then it’s onto the traditional La Ronda district to see various local artisans at work, and finally to the highly acclaimed Capilla del Hombre art gallery which displays the finest works of Ecuadorian artist Guayasamin.
After lunch a trip north to stand literally in the middle of the world! At the equator you visit both the official monument as well as the fascinating Inti Ñan museum where you can prove (or disprove) various scientific phenomena that only hold true at latitude zero.
