Trip Summary

This urban safari blends Table Mountain’s natural beauty with the soul of Cape Town’s City Bowl. From trailblazing coffee roasters and historic spice merchants to vibrant street eats and elegant high tea, this day connects you to the city’s people, palate, and pulse, one unforgettable experience at a time.

Embark on a full-sensory journey through Cape Town, where coffee, culture, cuisine, and iconic landscapes come together for a distinctly urban adventure.

We begin the morning immersed in Cape Town’s renowned coffee scene. From the trailblazing Origin Coffee Roasting, known for its direct-from-farm sourcing and expertly brewed cups, to the steampunk-inspired Truth Coffee, where storytelling and roasts go hand in hand, you’ll savour the best of the city's caffeine culture in unforgettable settings.

Energised and ready for adventure, we ascend to the summit of Table Mountain by cable car. As the city shrinks below and panoramic views unfold, we step into nature for a guided walk among indigenous fynbos. Your guide will share tales of Cape Town’s past, brought to life with vintage photographs and sweeping vistas. Pause for fresh coffee and home-baked treats before returning to sea level.

From here, we head into the Bo Kaap, one of Cape Town’s most vibrant and historic neighbourhoods. Stroll the cobbled streets lined with brightly coloured homes, explore boutique artisan stores, and meet the creatives behind the "local is lekker" movement. At Atlas Trading, uncover the spice-scented soul of Cape Malay cuisine, then taste your way through local street foods like freshly fried samosas, chilli bites, and sweet koesisters.

In the late afternoon, we’ll indulge in a classic High Tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel, a Cape Town institution. Relax in the elegant lounge as tiered trays of savoury bites and decadent pastries are served, accompanied by the hotel’s signature rose-petal tea and live piano music. Don’t miss the local favourite: a creamy melktert (milk tart) that adds a uniquely South African touch to this refined experience.

If time (and appetite) allows, we finish the day with a stop at Cape Town’s hidden Gin Bar, tucked behind an artisanal chocolate shop, a perfect toast to a day of flavour and discovery.
