Experience the unexpected – visit the musical vineyards of DeMorgenzon, where Baroque music is piped through the vineyards, and enjoy a cellar tour at Hartenberg Wines, the largest privately owned cellar in South Africa. Indulge in a leisurely picnic at Boschendal and explore the scenic hiking and biking trails within the grounds. Our day ends with a wine tasting session at Delaire Graff, with panoramic views of the Helshoogte Mountain Pass.
The Winelands are home to a huge number of vineyards which produce an astounding variety of flavours and tastes. Each has a unique approach to tending their vines, and this wine tasting adventure gives an insight into some of these methods.
DeMorgenzon’s technique is the most unusual in the area – they strongly believe that a constant stream of Baroque music piped through the vineyards has a positive effect on the ripening process. A truly unique wine tasting experience, with stunning views all round.
We continue to Hartenberg Wines – a family owned and run estate with the largest private cellar in South Africa, adorned with wine-inspired works of art. From here, we’ll head across to the Drakenstein Valley for a picnic lunch at the glorious Boschendal Wine Estate, and finish the day with a sundowner wine tasting session at Delaire Graff
