Today we will make our way along the stunning Cape Peninsula to the False Bay coastline.
We will start the day by heading towards the Surfers Mecca beach of Muizenberg for some photos & to get fitted for our ocean gear, before continuing through the bohemian feel Kalk Bay for a coffee in one of our favourite bakeries/coffee shops.
From here, we will drive along the coast towards Simon’s Town, where we will search for our own rogue penguins – a splinter colony away from the crowded boardwalks over the main breeding site, on a beach known mostly to locals. Our penguin conservationist will take you on an educational and enlightening penguin walk on the walkways bordering the penguin sanctuary.
Continuing our journey to Windmill Beach for a fun outdoor experience followed by a light picnic lunch. Your guide will run through your snorkelling activity, what to expect, and safety instructions. Get suited up and head into the water for a unique ocean experience.
Spend the morning snorkelling in the underwater kelp forests where we will be snorkelling together as a group. Before entering the kelp forest we will have done the water confidence activities so this is a fun way to put into practice what you just learned about yourself. (In this session we will NOT be free diving, so no weight belt is given unless they can provide a certificate of a completed free diving course).
We will also spend the morning introducing you to some of our local edible seaweed and abundant food found on this beautiful coastline while exploring the magical world of rock pools. Or test out your balancing skills on a stand-up paddleboard to really get to know the local penguins in their own environment.
After a rejuvenating morning, you will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch in your own exclusive beach club setup.
We will then continue on to the Cape of Good Hope. In the peninsula reserve, we will enjoy a gentle hike exploring secluded beaches, shipwrecks, and this region’s unique wildlife while on the hunt for the Cape 5 (Ostrich, Baboons, Mountain Zebra, Bontebok, and Tortoise).
Wind the afternoon down with a visit to the local Noordhoek Farm Village where you can all enjoy a delicious artisanal ice cream at Kristen's Kick Ass Ice Cream, before heading back home, along the most scenic drive of all: Chapman's Peak. Stop at a magical surprise location for an early evening drink as a local.
