Our morning begins early this morning to make our way up to the top of the Iconic Table Mountain which overlooks the dynamic city of Cape Town.
As you ascend by cable car, the city unfolds beneath you, revealing breathtaking views of Cape Town, the Atlantic Ocean, and the rugged coastline beyond. At the summit of Table Mountain, leave the bustle behind and set off on a short, guided hike across the plateau. Surrounded by rare fynbos and dramatic cliffs, you’ll learn to spot local wildlife like dassies while soaking in panoramic 360-degree views. Along the way, your guide will bring the city’s story to life using historic photographs, offering a unique perspective on how Cape Town has evolved over time. Pause in a quiet spot for freshly brewed coffee and home-baked treats, a welcome moment of stillness before your descent back to sea level.
A day of contrasts being exposed to many various art projects and styles. Start your day with a Hop-On Art Consultant with a passion for developing art within the Tourism industry. Immerse yourself in Cape Town’s art through the perspective of a true art local. You will discover that this is where everything from celebrated international work to exciting local names come together in a melting pot of culture and expression.
We start in the Silo District for a guided tour of the largest Contemporary Art Museum on the African Continent, Zeitz MOCAA. Led by Talita who will help you discover this incredible space with its inspirational architecture and diverse range of artworks by artists from all over the African continent.
We will continue through the inner City Bowl where you'll visit the best local art galleries and contemporary studios of interest to you - these will be tailor-made art visits of your choice. Expect to visit galleries such as Eclectic Contemporary Art Gallery’ or ’34 Fine Art’, Everard Read, Whatiftheworld, and Brundyn+ depending on your interests.
After bidding farewell to your Art Guide, enjoy a leisurely lunch in the city centre, choosing from one of Cape Town’s acclaimed restaurants or stylish cafés known for their creative menus and warm hospitality.
This afternoon, take a guided walking tour through Bo Kaap, one of Cape Town’s most colourful and culturally rich neighbourhoods. Wander past vibrant 17th-century homes, visit historic mosques and shrines, and browse boutique artisan stores driven by Cape Town’s dynamic "local is lekker" ethos. Along the way, your guide will uncover lesser-known art installations, graffiti works, and public artworks that speak to the city’s layered social history and modern-day diversity.
In the Bo Kaap we will take in some highlights and the fascinating little know stories of the city relating to exciting art installations, galleries, and graffiti around the city. Combining its history and modern-day culture, you will get a great insight into this exciting city. exploring the artworks that symbolize the cultural barriers that make the city such a diverse place to visit.
Wind down the day with a drink at one of our secret local spots, offering spectacular views of the city and the surrounding mountains, the perfect place to reflect on a day filled with colour, culture, and connection.
