Wine Tasting in the Breede River Valley beyond the Boland Mountains.

A full day of fun and exploring the unique award-winning wines in the areas that are too far for a Self-Drive option.

08h00: We all meet up and depart from a central location heading out of Cape Town through the Swartland area to our first stop near Tulbagh. Along the way, we will discuss the tasting notes of the great wines that we will taste today. Wine tasting is a uniquely personal experience that is different for each person. It is so interesting to compare notes and share our individual experience of a wine.

Our first tasting is at the 300-year old Twee Jonge Gezellin Wine Estate owned by the Krone family. This wine cellar invented, and played a key role in developing the cold fermentation process in wine production. They also took the lead in starting the process of Night-Harvest when the temperatures are cooler. This tasting focuses on our own MCC or Methode Cap Classique.

For our next stop, we will do a tasting at either Saronsberg Cellar OR the Organic Wine and Olive Estate of Waverley Hills on the slopes of the Skurweberge. In 2018 Waverley Hills Estate won the prize for the Best Organic Wine in the World for their recently released SMV 2013 vintage. Learn about producing wine the responsible way, and doing it very well!

We move on down the valley to Breedekloof for the next Wine Tasting in the Breede River Valley at the private cellar of Jason's Hill Estate. The cellar and the winemaking is in the hands of the winner of the first-ever Woman Wine Maker of the year 2004.

By this time we will be running a little short on time so we hope to include the last great wine tasting at the Du Toitskloof Cellar which is an accredited Fair Trade cellar. Not only is the cellar Fair Trade accredited, but all 22 members of this cooperative cellar are also all Fair Trade accredited.

We include your lunch at the beautifully located Harvest Table Bistro in the great location at the foot of Mitchell's Pass.
