Activities and Attractions

The Cango Caves are listed among the world’s greatest natural wonders. Formed over millions of years, the caves offer a fascinating journey through breathtaking limestone formations. Although the caves had been used by Bushmen they remained unexplored until sometime around 1780. They are one of the 10 most visited tourist attractions in South Africa and are must to be visited. The caves were declared a National Monument in 1938 and stretch for more than 2 kilometres into the mountain.

Heritage Tour - An easy walk through the first six largest and most spectacular halls and continuing through to the "African Drum room". A few stairways are included.

The Cango Wildlife Ranch promotes awareness and conservation of endangered species, while encouraging supervised interaction – making this a wonderful destination for children of all ages. Housing the oldest and largest cheetah contact centre worldwide, visitors can view these powerful, speedy cats in a natural bushveld environment from elevated walkways. From predators of the land to predators of the water, visitors can then move on to the crocodile and alligator enclosures to study more of the world’s most dangerous beasts.

Safari Ostrich Farm is a working ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn, this is the only tractor tour on an ostrich farm in South Africa.  Everything about us is focused on you having a wonderful interactive encounter and learning something new about the world’s largest bird. 

Ostrich Tractor Safari – Duration: 1 Hour - The Tractor Tour allows for an awesome experience of our working farm where you can interact with and learn more about ostriches.

 Part 1 –  Ostrich Tractor Safari (Game Drive inside Breeding Camp)

1. Experience a real working ostrich farm.
2. The only place to see the Zimbabwean, Kenyan and South African Ostriches.
3. Safari Guides explain the natural breeding cycle of ostriches to you with an unmatched view of the largest bird in the world right next to you.
4. Watch how ostriches breed in nature during the breeding season.
5. See different ages of ostrich chicks in the chick rearing compartment.
6. Take awesome photographs
7. Disembark after your tractor ride and continue with second part of the walking tour.

Part 2 – Safari Ostrich Farm (Working Farm Tour)

1. Visit Incubator Room and see chicks hatching inside incubator – also get a real close and personal perspective of chicks piping out by means of our “Spy-Camera” inside incubator onto big screen T.V.
2. Watch how ostrich eggs are carved.
2.  See, touch and learn about Ostrich Leather.
3. See, touch and learn about all the different types of Ostrich Feathers.
4. Learn about Ostrich evolution and significance to past cultures.
5. You will see our rare White Ostriches – unique and very special.
7. Have fun feeding our Ostriches.
8. Visit the Emu’s, the Australian bird which is the 2nd biggest bird in the world.
