This one-of-a-kind experience is the closest you’ll get to being a local. Go outside the guidebook and into the cellars of the passionate pioneers that are changing the industry. These wineries have character. You’ll visit tasting rooms covered in cobwebs and history (some with paintings of previous owner’s mistresses!) as well as state of the art tasting-rooms that specialise in environmentally friendly, natural winemaking.
Many of these producers are family owned and operated. So if you’re not speaking directly to the winemaker then it’s the winemaker’s husband or wife. You may find yourself walking into the vineyards with the vineyard manager, or tasting wine from the barrel with the owner’s son. You may also get a warm introduction to the family’s faithful hound. You’ll undoubtedly experience the passion that is placed into each taste. During this unique experience you’ll visit 4 boutique, small production wineries that you won’t find on any standard wine tour. You’ll explore a cellar, go on a vineyard tour and taste directly from the barrel. Stock up on top quality wines that are often not sold outside of the winery.
