Chagres National Park, located just outside Panama City, is a vast protected area known for its lush tropical rainforests, rich biodiversity, and the Chagres River, which supplies water to the Panama Canal. The park is home to various wildlife, including tropical birds, monkeys, and exotic plants, offering visitors a glimpse of Panama's vibrant ecosystem.

Amaze yourself as you explore this fabulous tropical rainforest and its rich flora and fauna. You will navigate the Chagres River on board a Piragua (typical local canoe), captained by an Emberá.

 

Emberá Village

Within the park, at the Embera Village, you can learn about their culture, art, music, and crafts, as well as enjoy a warm welcome with traditional dances and meals. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with Panama's indigenous heritage in an authentic, natural setting.

The Emberá are a riverine people of Panama, historically building their houses along banks of rivers.
