Trip Summary

Antisana (5704m) is the 4th highest volcano of the Andes and located 50 kilometres South East of Quito. This impressive volcano is covered with glaciers and snow, and you will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the jagged rocky peaks and vast sweep of paramo vegetation above the tree line. The massive glacial moraine, lava flows and walls of huge cliffs form a stunning sight. Birdlife and flora is also very interesting in the reserve – if lucky, you may even spot a condor as this is an important breeding zone for this majestic bird. You will enjoy an incredible hike through the paramo and observe the typical flora of the high altitude grasslands, amongst which beautiful endemic flowers.
