Trip Summary

Enjoy 5 nights in Victoria Falls, widely recognized as the adventure capital of Africa, with loads to see, do and explore. This excellent value package includes breakfast daily and five awesome activities in Victoria Falls.

Located merely 400m from the Victoria Falls, 100m from the epicenter of the Vic Falls town with its craft and curio markets, bohemian cafes and overlooking natural African bush panorama, the Explorers Village is the perfect "Base Camp". Comprising of 42 private rooms, the village represents budget accommodation at its finest - clean, cool, relaxing, elegant, excellent traditional food, ice cold drinks and exceptionally friendly hosts ready to welcome you and guide you through your Vic Falls experience.

The Village chalets are stylish yet budget conscious. Each room has some unique decorative flourishes, but all of them are perfectly appointed to ensure maximum comfort. Each chalet is perfectly air conditioned (pleasant throughout the whole year – but really desirable in summer months). They also have an en-suite shower/wet room, crisp clean linen on wonderfully comfortable beds, with a daily housekeeping and turn down service. Outside each room is a patio on which to enjoy some quiet time. The chalets allow you to have style and elegance at really affordable prices, so you can access more of the ‘’once in a lifetime’’ activities available in Victoria Falls.

Activities Included:

Guided Tour of the Falls
A knowledgeable guide will take guests on an unforgettable experience through the Victoria Falls rain forest, a journey that not only affords a view of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World but provides a great deal of interesting facts about the geology, wildlife and history of Africa’s most famous landmark. Visitors will listen to magical tales of local legend while they enjoy the constant spray from the “The Smoke that Thunders”. The Shearwater guide will also help ensure the best photographic opportunities of this breathtaking World Heritage Site. At the end of the tour, guests can enjoy something to eat (for own account) at Shearwater’s Rainforest Cafe, which provides an ideal place to stop and refuel before the next adventure.

Riversong Luxury Sunset Cruise
There is no better way to see the mighty Zambezi, and it’s wild life, than on a leisurely, luxury cruise on the flagship, ultra-luxury Riversong. Here you can relax at the end of the day and watch the animal happenings around the river. As the sunsets, you are afforded amazing photographic opportunities of a Zimbabwean sunset.

The boat has two decks, each with their own bar and bathroom, and each offering a different but equally spellbinding view. You are free to move between the decks as the cruise progresses. The Riversong offers unlimited drinks prepared by our onboard bartenders as well as freshly-made canapes prepared by our on-board chef. With uniquely curated pieces of African art and design, the Riversong is the ultimate in stylish elegance and sophistication.

Through the Eyes of an Elephant
Of all the animals in Africa it is the elephant that most captures the human imagination. These gentle giants are perceived as the most intelligent and majestic of all Africa’s creatures. This immersive elephant awareness activity offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy a moment up close with these magnificent animals, get an in depth understanding of them and watch them at play, just being elephants.

Go on a journey that takes you into the elephant’s world. What are the amazing super-senses they possess? How do they express their emotions and intelligence? What experiences and abilities do people share with Pachyderms? How can we use that to help care for them and conserve this iconic species? What does ZEWACT do to ensure they have the best quality of life possible? How are they kept mentally stimulated?

Guests then have a chance to be introduced to the ZEWACT elephant herd, meeting carers and elephants. The elephants will demonstrate with their carers some of their remarkable abilities and natural behaviours, all a function of our enrichment and care program. Guests will have an opportunity to mingle with the herd and develop an understanding of how the elephants are cared for. Guests will also get to see the unique bonds that are fostered between carer and elephant and the special relationship they forge (approximately 20-25 minutes). After you meet the elephants, they are at liberty to enjoy ‘bush time’, as free as their wild cousins. The guests will be escorted to the viewing deck beside the waterhole to enjoy a further close up experience of the elephants at play, browsing and wallowing. Guests will be offered refreshments and given a detailed narrative of all the unique behaviour and characteristics that the herd exhibits. Guests are encouraged to ask any questions of the guide and carers and discover more about the conservation, research and community projects ZEWACT supports (approximately 35-45mins).
The ZEWACT is a non-profit Trust established in 2018 to provide long term care for the resident domestic herd. All the elephants under their care are survivors of culls and droughts that have for most of their lives participated in elephant back safari operations. All donations go toward the cost of care and welfare of these elephants and donations go toward the funding of elephant/human conflict mitigation
programs, community engagement and research projects that the Trust supports.
