Trip Summary

Starting your day with the rising sun, biking along the Sea Point promenade & kayaking along the Atlantic Seaboard with spectacular views back over the Mother City.  This gives a unique perspective of the city before your hike up to the top of Table Mountain, leaving the crowds to get your bearing on the city from its highest point. Take in the stories of the apartheid era struggles to the founding of a new democracy, wildlife conservation, and more.

There is no better way to really immerse yourself in a destination than to exit the vehicle and explore the great outdoors. Today you will cruise on two wheels, take to the water, explore on foot, and hike up to the top of the Iconic Table Mountain ending with spectacular views overlooking the dynamic city of Cape Town.

We start the day like a true local, by making our way to the bustling Sea Point Promenade for an active morning as we board retro tandem bikes and cruise along the iconic Sea Point Promenade. Soaking up the atmosphere, the ever-fascinating daily life of this buzzing stretch of urban coastline. We’ll take a look at the local art sculptures/installations as we go, Cape Town’s artistic diversity and talent are evident at each turn – artists have tackled topics ranging from Rhino Conservation to the historic years that Nelson Mandela spent on Robben Island, just across the waters. We'll enjoy fresh coffee and home-baked treats which revive the body before we continue by climbing onto double kayaks and paddling along the stunning Atlantic Sea Board coastline. Dolphins, seals, penguins, sunfish, and occasionally whales frequent the Cape Town waters.

Continue through the inner city, soaking up the magical vibe of Cape Town, through a combination of tales of the past juxtaposed with modern-day culture, and meet some of the absorbing communities which form the town’s vital building blocks. We uncover a selection of historical sites, such as Company’s Garden, Green Market Square, and St George’s Cathedral - buildings and monuments which stood as the backdrop for memorable icons who changed the world. Depending on your interests, touch on the fascinating and controversial politics that have shaped the city - delving into recollections of the once-vibrant District 6 community or perhaps the occasion where Mandela made his first free speech.

For lunch, we head into the city, known for its gastronomic delights on offer, for a well-deserved lunch at one of the local restaurants or cafes.

Continue your day in the most exciting and active way possible - you will summit Table Mountain on a challenging hike! Depending on your fitness levels, this hike will take between 2 to 2.5 hours to reach the summit as you experience increasingly breath-taking views over the city and an endless sea, until you stand atop iconic Table Mountain. Enjoy the fauna and flora and the breath-taking views on your way to the top and once you reach the peak, take in the 360-degree views while tracking Dassies (Mountain Rock Rabbits) that can often be spotted on the table top.

Reward your taste buds with a decadent treat and enjoy a delicious artisanal chocolate or refreshing drinks at the end of your day.
