Embark on a journey along the Peninsula, starting with a delightful coffee stop in the bohemian ambiance of Kalk Bay. Wander through this quaint old holiday town, filled with antique shops, galleries, craftsmen, and lively vendors. Kalk Bay is a working fishing community filled with brightly coloured boats, some noisy seals, and even louder ladies hard at work processing the day’s catch!
From here, we will drive along the coast towards Simon’s Town, where we will search for our own rogue penguins – a splinter colony away from the crowded boardwalks over the main breeding site, on a beach known mostly to locals. We will take you on an educational and enlightening penguin walk on the walkways bordering the penguin sanctuary.
Your guide will tell you more about the rich history surrounding this naval town, the museums and monuments provide plenty of insight into this historical harbour town.
Venturing further, we reach the iconic Cape of Good Hope. In the Peninsula Reserve, a gentle hike awaits, exploring secluded beaches, shipwrecks, and the unique wildlife of the region. Keep an eye out for the Cape 5 – Ostrich, Baboons, Mountain Zebra, Bontebok, and Tortoise.
Wind the afternoon down with a visit to the local Noordhoek Farm Village where you can all enjoy a delicious artisanal ice cream at Kristen's Kick Ass Ice Cream, before heading back towards the city center along the most scenic drive of all: Chapman's Peak. We will stop at a magical surprise location for a well-deserve GnT, with views of the vast Atlantic Ocean. A perfect end to a day filled with adventure and wonder.
