Trip Summary

Our day will be kept active, exploring Stellenbosch from a quirky perspective as we explore Waterford Wine Estate, Wine Drive Safari before delving deeper into the heart of Stellenbosch on foot to learn about the history of this Cape Dutch Town. Our afternoon will then be spent exploring the smaller boutique estates.

Our morning begins as we leave Cape Town in our Adventure Utility Vehicle (AUV) and take the scenic route into the winelands for our day of fun play, taste and exploration which awaits!

Experience the unexpected – to get our morning off to an exciting start, we start with a visit to Waterford Wine Estate venturing through the vineyards for a 3 hour wine safari. The wine tasting will be accompanied by various light snacks, which are well suited to pair with the individual wines. The experience will culminate with the Wine and Chocolate Tasting, back at the winery.

We continue our journey will lead us into the heart of Stellenbosch where we will explore on two feet, beginning at Dorp Street, one of the longest rows of old buildings surviving in any major town in southern Africa, it oozes with an old world charm. We will take a stroll down the street and admire the beautiful Cape Dutch architecture, restaurants, boutiques, and coffee shops before continuing through the heart of the Town.

Your lunch will be enjoyed at Warwick Wine Estate where we will relax in this spectacular setting for a decadent picnic.  When it comes to wine pairings, the old saying says, “foods that grow together go together.” Nothing could be truer than the wines made and the dishes served here!

Next, we will indulge in another wine tasting in the afternoon at Muratie Wine Estate. Muratie's rich history is captured in every nook and cranny. Wherever you are on the estate you cannot help being moved by a sense of the many generations that have lived and worked on this estate.

Wind the day down with a gentle stroll in the expansive gardens of Babylonstoren which are steeped in fascinating history. A working farm dating back to 1692, Babylonstoren is a historic Cape Dutch farm that boasts one of the best preserved farmyards in the Cape.
