A day spent tracking the Marine Big 5 (The Southern Right Whale, Shark, Dolphin, Seal, and Penguin). Heading out of Cape Town we will take the quickest and most direct route through Hermanus to Gansbaai. Here we will experience a mornings Fat Biking Adventure, cycling down the sand dunes before continuing along the beach where we will keep a lookout for the Marine Wildlife that inhabit the area. Lunch will be enjoyed in Stanford before we go sky high for a scenic flight over the whales, sharks and Southernmost tip of Africa. Our journey back to Cape Town will lead us along the scenic coastal road of Clarence Drive, stopping to view the colony of Penguins at Betty’s Bay before returning back to base.

Heading out of Cape Town we will take the quickest and most direct route to Gansbaai over Sir Lowry’s Pass. Our route will lead us through Hermanus and onto De Kelders where we will experience a Fat Biking Adventure. These bikes are a new revelation to the Mountain Biking world, allowing people to ride on terrain that previously seemed impossible, even with just the basic cycling skill. Our cycle will lead us down a sandy horse trail through the Fynbos before reaching the Dunes where your guide will fully brief each rider so that all members of the group feel confident in experiencing the unique downhill run. Having conquered the Dunes we will continue along the beach, keeping an eye out for the Marine Wildlife that inhabit the Bay.
Returning to our Adventure Utility Vehicle (AUV) our journey will head inland to Stanford where we will explore the farmstalls before enjoying Lunch at The Tasting Room, Stanford Hills Estate.
Our afternoon will be spent exploring from sky high, taking off from Stanford Hills we will have the opportunity to gain an eagles eye view of whales (season depending), undisturbed and unaware of human presence. African Wings 'Flight of the Giants' use planes that make minimum noise and emit low frequency to allow the best airborne view of whales possible. Carrying a maximum at 3 at a time on a 1 hour 10 minute scenic flight over the whales, sharks and Southernmost tip of Africa.
We will return to Cape Town along the scenic R44 that hugs the coast line all the way from Walker Bay to False Bay, having the option to visit the Penguins at Betty’s Bay which are larger in side to those found in the Cape Peninsula before returning back to base.
