Trip Summary

There’s no better way to connect with the Winelands than by getting out into nature. Surrounded by scenic valleys, vineyard views, and mountain peaks, today’s experience offers fun for the whole family. With e-bikes, wine tastings, animal encounters, and space to play, this is a day designed for shared discovery and personalised enjoyment.

Start the day on an electronic Vine Bike, gliding through the vineyards with ease and enjoying the fresh valley air. This is a fun, active way to explore the countryside while still keeping things relaxed.

Along the way, visit two wine estates, including a cellar tour at an award-winning winery, before cruising into Franschhoek town. Your guide will share the fascinating history behind this French-inspired village and its role in shaping the Cape Winelands as we know them today.

Next, stop at the SA Farm Sanctuary, a beautiful space and working farm where rescued animals find refuge. Children can feed and interact with the animals while parents relax with a wine tasting or visit the plant-based café. It’s an inspiring, hands-on experience for all ages.

Settle in for a fine dining lunch at a family-welcoming wine estate. Expect delicious seasonal fare, space to roam, and a laid-back setting that makes everyone feel at home.

Continue to one of the region’s most picturesque wine farms, framed by dramatic mountains and open lawns. With ample space for kids to play and activities to keep them entertained, it’s the perfect setting for relaxed family time. One of our guides will be on hand, and our Toy Bag is always ready to spark some fun.

To end the day, your guide will help select a final wine estate or two based on your tastes and interests. Whether you're after something rustic, modern, organic, or off the beaten track, the Franschhoek Valley has a vineyard to match.

This day is designed with families in mind. Your African Adventure Guide will shape the experience based on the group’s energy, interests, and timing. From wine lovers to little explorers, there’s something for everyone.
