Departure from Lençóis towards Vale do Capão. We start the hike which is uphill for an hour and then continues on a flat path to the waterfall. La Cachoeira da Fumaça is the second largest waterfall in Brazil with a free fall of 385m. During the walk you will enjoy a privileged view of Vale do Capão and do Morrão. After a picnic we go back to the car and drive for 5 minutes. We will then go to the Riachinho waterfall for another 10 minutes for a relaxing bath. At the end of the day we return to Lençóis.
The Cachoeira da Fumaca waterfall is one of the most spectacular grounds of the Chapada Diamantina. Above the waterfall is a huge rim that juts out into the valley, from which you can see the mountain stream emerging from a crevasse rushing into the seemingly endless gorge. The fall is so high that the water is nowhere atomized and Brazil's tallest waterfall is also known as the "waterfall of smoke".
