Arrival in Lima.
We go to the Lomas de Lachay National Reserve which is 110 km north of Lima. Here, rich flora and fauna with many endemic species are protected. Then we go to Swamps of Villa south of Lima. In this protected area you can see more than 150 species of birds, half of all species in the Lime District.
Flights to Cusco. In the afternoon we make an excursion to visit the historical center and ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
Excursion to the Huacarpay Lagoon. Here are many lookouts where you can see the different endemic and migratory birds around the lagoon.
We head to one of Peru's main tourist attractions - Machu Picchu, with its astonishing ruins and stunning views.
Flights to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to Posada Amazonas.
We hike 30 minutes to a viewing tower that will add a whole new dimension to your bird watching experience in the Amazon. In the afternoon we hike along the Shahu trail.
During the morning we visit the bamboo forest, which is 15 minutes from the lodge. After lunch we walk along the Shije'ejes trail.
Boat trip and hike to Tres Chimbada's lake system. In the afternoon we make an excursion to the nearby forest. After dinner we go out for evening bird watching.
Transfer to Puerto Maldonado and flights to Lima where you connect to your flight home.
