Beginning in Upington, where you are welcomed by your guide at the airport with flights arriving before 13h00. We travel up into the desert region of the Kgalagadi, arriving at the Park in the afternoon (2 and a half hour drive).
Depending on the time, lunch is enjoyed on the way. We enjoy an afternoon game drive to our camp for the evening. Arrive at our first camp and settle in. Dinner is enjoyed around an open fire under the night sky
Today is a typical safari day in the Kgalagadi. We head out early in the morning at sunrise for a game drive. Enjoy searching the wilderness for animals for about 4 hours. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, and relax there during the heat of the day. Beautiful views from your deck into the bush and a swimming pool are on offer.
During the afternoon, we head out again for a sunset drive seraching for wildlife. Return to camp for dinner, and enjoy the evening listening to the sounds of the bush and looking at the incredible starry skies in this wilderness region!
Same itinerary as yesterday, DAY 2.
This morning we must be packed and ready to leave at sunrise. We transfer today to another section of the Park, well known for its lion prides. Enjoy a 4 hour or so game drive from Kalahari Tented Camp to Nossob region. We stop along the way at picnic spots to stretch legs, bathroom breaks, and breakfast. Arrive at Nossob camp around midday, enjoying lunch here before checking into your accommodation at about 14h00.
Settle into your chalet and relax. In the late afternoon, we enjoy a short drive to a nearby waterhole, taking full advantage of the Golden Hour for photography, and hoping to see animals come to drink in the cooling evening. Return to camp for dinner.
A typical day on safari, waking up early and exploring north up into the remote areas of the Kgalagadi. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, and relax during the heat of the day. Similarly there is a swimming pool in camp, a small shop, limited wifi, and a predator centre showcasing the predators of the Kalahari.
Head out on an afternoon game drive, and return to camp for dinner! Hopefully in the night we can listen to the sound of Lions roaring, which is relatively common in the camp.
A Typical day on safari, as with Day 5. We are now fully into the Kgalagadi experience, and hopefully begin to appreciate the smaller wildlife, such as the raptors, meerkats, mongoose etc.
This morning we must be packed and ready to leave at sunrise again, as we transfer and explore the last section of this magnificent Park. We head down south along the Nossob River, stopping along the way to enjoy bathroom breaks and breakfast in the bush.
We transfer today to Twee Rivieren Rest Camp, the main post of the camp. Meaning Two Rivers, this camp is at the confluence of the Nossob and Auob Rivers, so different routes and an abundance of wildlife occur here.
We check into camp, and settle during the afternoon. Enjoy dinner tonight.
A typical day on Kgalagadi Safari. Optional activity in the evening is a night drive, searching for the nocturnal animals of the bush; brown hyena, porcupine, owls, etc. For own expense.
Today we enjoy our final full day on Safari, searching for anything we haven't yet seen and visiting the nearby museum (showcasing the harsh life of the pioneers in this region). Our final dinner is enjoyed at the local restaurant in style!
On our final morning, enjoy either a relaxed one, or head out on a final early morning game drive.
We then travel back down to Upington Airport for flights out or own itinerary.
