Day 1: Cape Town

Welcome in beautiful Cape Town!

Your South African adventure starts when arriving at the Cape Town International Airport.  Upon arrival you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your lovely hotel where you will be staying for 3 nights.

The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and unwind after your long flight.

Day 2: Cape Town

Explore the city of Cape Town! Pick up at 12:00

The morning is at leisure until 12:00 when you will embark on an afternoon Half Day Private Cape Town City Tour.

Situated below Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head, Cape Town offers a rich cultural and colonial heritage, grand splendour and an assurance of activity of excitement. Including all the `must-sees ‘of any Cape Town day tour, this option is a geographical and cultural extravaganza, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings of yesteryear to the dazzling modern buildings of today.

We commence with a cable car trip up the legendary Table Mountain for spectacular views of the Mother City and the surrounding peninsula. There is a wide variety of birds and animals on the mountain. Sit quietly in a secluded spot and you are guaranteed to see some of the interesting fauna that lives here, especially more common endemics like dassies. Table Mountain is part of a World Heritage Site and home to a unique yet endangered plant diversity known as fynbos. Join us for a free guided walk to learn more about the fauna and flora. These walks are offered on the hour from 9h00 – 15h00 and depart from the Twelve Apostles Terrace (below the Shop at the Top and the Table Mountain Café).

Back in the city itself, we visit the well preserved Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea market, Greenmarket Square. We also take a trip through the colourful and picturesque Malay Quarter known as Bo-Kaap.

Day 3: Cape Town

Enjoy the breathtaking Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve! - Pick up time 09:00

After breakfast you enjoy a Full Day Private Cape Point Tour along the scenic Atlantic seaboard coastal road. We pass the pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, see the 12 Apostles Peaks, Hout Bay and the Sentinal.

Visit Seal Island or shop for souvenirs at the craft market at the harbor. We drive from there through the most beautiful scenic road, Chapman’s Peak.

We visit Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to ‘fynbos’, wild animals and birds.

Cape Point is a hiker’s paradise, and there are a number of beautiful and manageable short walks throughout the reserve. Each walk serves up a selection panoramic ocean and mountain views, access to unspoilt beaches, and the opportunity to spot rare wildlife wandering peacefully among the vibrant fynbos or across the salt white sand.

You have an option of enjoying lunch at the restaurant with views of False Bay

Next we visit Boulders Beach to see the African penguins.

Our last stop is at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Kirstenbosch lies in the heart of the Cape Floristic Region, also known as the Cape Floral Kingdom. In 2004 the Cape Floristic Region, including Kirstenbosch, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site – another first for Kirstenbosch. It is the first botanic garden in the world to be included within a natural World Heritage Site.

Day 4: Garden Route

Fly to the beautiful Garden Route! Pick up at 09:30

After breakfast and check out you will be transferred to the Cape Town International Airport to board your flight to George on the Garden Route.(50 minute flight). (Flight depart Cape Town at 11:45 and arrive in George at 12:35). Upon arrival in George your driver will transfer you to Tsitsikamma National Park (2 hour drive) where your 4 Day Luxury Dolphin Hiking Trail awaits you! Upon arrival you check in at reception (Be sure to have your booking form available as this includes your entry to the Park)

Relax and enjoy the scenery until it is time at around 19:00 to meet your Dolphin Trail host who will answer any questions you may have, and will give you information regarding the trail. Enjoy your dinner to the sound of pounding waves with a myriad of stars shining above you.

Day 5: Tsitsikamma National Park

8:00am

Early risers can enjoy the stunning view of their surroundings and are welcome to go bird watching or walking before breakfast which is served from 8:00am. Your luggage will be collected any time after 8:45am at your chalets, and you will meet your guides who will be with you for the two days of hiking.

When the group is ready and all drink bills settled, you depart along the boardwalk to Storms River Mouth. After crossing Storms River on the suspension bridge, you follow a steep and rocky path to the Lookout Point with a magnificent view of the coast towards Plettenberg Bay. Here you will be greeted by the friendly Misty Mountain Reserve staff offering a well deserved refreshment and light snack. Relax and enjoy the endless view of the Indian Ocean while keeping your eyes peeled for whales and dolphins.

Arrival time at Misty Mountain Reserve depends on the speed of the hikers and the amount of time spent enjoying the magnificent environment. You will be given a warm welcome and can enjoy an ice cold or piping hot refreshment before being shown to your Ocean View or Tented Lodge. For the energetic Misty offers many on site activities to keep you entertained including our very popular sundowner quad tours, mountain biking, foot golf, 9 hole chip and wedge mashie golf and fresh water fishing.

6:30pm Meet at the Khoisan Lounge for pre-dinner sundowners, with a world class sunset as a backdrop spanning a 180 deg view of the Indian Ocean, before sitting down to a delectable 3 course menu skillfully paired with award winning estate wines served in the restaurant.

Day 6: Tsitsikamma National Park

A hearty breakfast is served in the restaurant at 08:30. After breakfast at 9:30 the guides will brief the hikers for the start of day two of the hike.

Hikers follow a steep path from their chalets straight down to the rock pools. Today’s route is mainly at sea level and the morning walk along the coast is magnificent. Enjoy the beautiful plant life and rocky scenery, and keep your eyes open for the spoor of the Cape Clawless Otter in “Otter’s Alley”.

Swimming and snorkelling are possible in a couple of rock pools en route so please take your swimming gear with you. The guides will carry 2 sterilised snorkelling sets for the use of the group.

At times you are required to clamber over rocks that are often damp from the sea spray, so please take care.

After a stiff climb up the cliff on to level ground, when you are tired and hungry, you will reach a beautiful spot in the forest - and lunch. Enjoy it and soak up the peace and tranquillity of the magnificent forest before setting off on the last 3km through indigenous fynbos to The Fernery.

Hikers arrive at The Fernery to a well earned drink and are then shown to their beautiful chalets nestled in fynbos along the river. Several activities are available for those who are still feeling energetic, such as boating, cycling and bird watching.

A swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna are there for your use, and you are welcome to browse through the Fernery and nursery facilities if you wish.

At 18:30 you meet for pre-dinner drinks followed by a delicious 4 course menu d’hôte at the Lodge Restaurant.

Day 7: Johannesburg

Continue to Johannesburg! Pick up at 12:00

The weary can sleep in and enjoy the peace of their chalets, and early risers are welcome to go bird watching or visit the fern export operation.

Breakfast is served at the Lodge Restaurant at 8:30 after which the luggage is loaded and you set off on a scenic 4x4 trip through the old Storms River Pass.

12:00 noon

You arrive back at the GRNP - Tsitsikamma National Park where I will personally be waiting for you. En route to the George Airport we enjoy a delicious lunch at Salinas Restaurant in Wilderness.

We continue to George Airport (20 minutes drive) where you will board your flight to Johannesburg. (Flight depart George at 17:05 and arrive in Johannesburg at 18:45).

Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your lovely hotel situated at the Emperors Palace Resort (5 minutes drive from the airport).

Day 8: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Fly to spectacular Victoria Falls! Pick up at 09:30

After a leisurely breakfast and check out, you will be transferred to the ORT International Airport to board your flight to Victoria Falls. (Flight depart Johannesburg at 11:25 and arrive in Vic Falls at 13:05).

Upon arrival in Victoria Falls you will be met and transferred to your lovely lodge where you will be staying for 2 nights. A USD55 visa fee per person is payable at the border crossing.

Day 9: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Explore the Mighty Falls!

You have a full day to soak up the wonderful atmosphere of Victoria Falls, it is the adventure capital of Africa and there are activities on offer to cater for everyone’s needs. Enjoy a guided tour of the mighty Falls, partake in the many activities on offer or wander around the streets to do a bit of curio shopping, then finish off at a café for refreshments and a bite to eat (own account).

This afternoon at around 15:45, after you have freshen up, you will be collected from the lodge for your sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, Africa’s fourth longest, where you will enjoy snacks and drinks, as well as the opportunity to spot wildlife such as elephant, hippo, crocodile and magnificent birds. This is a great way to soak up the serenity of your surroundings as the sun sets over the water and day turns to night. (Snacks & Drinks included).

Day 10: Hazyview

Fly to Nelspruit!

After breakfast you will check out and be taken to the Vic Falls International Airport for your flight to Nelspruit via Johannesburg. (Flight depart Vic Falls at 11:20 and arrive in  Nelspruit at 12:50).  Upon arrival you will be met by your driver and transferred to your lodge where you will be staying for the night.

Days 11 - 13: Kruger National Park

On your departure day from Hazyview, after enjoying a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on an exciting transfer to Rhino Post Safari Lodge. The journey will take you through scenic landscapes, and you’ll start feeling the anticipation of your upcoming safari adventure.

Day 14: End of Itinerary

Say your last goodbyes!

After a final morning game drive and breakfast you will be transferred to the Skukuza Airport for your flight to Johannesburg and then home. (Flight depart Skukuza at 13:10 and arrive in Johannesburg at 14:20) in time for your flight back home.
