Expert tips

We love this convenient connection flight from Cape Town directly  to Skukuza in Southern Kruger national park. Its ideal after your time in Cape Town for a immediate start to a safari

Our private safari villas  are set in a prime Big 5 location, set on the banks of the perennial Sabie river, which makes for excellent game viewing, even from the comfort of your own bed. The river is the lifeblood of this part of Kruger National Park, and sets the tone for a great safari experience from the moment you arrive.

There is nothing like staying in these private safari villas, with your own host, and rangers who will take you into the park daily.

The next 48 hours , you will experience the immensity of Kruger National Park, with our rangers and guides having access to huge portions of this national park, using both public and private roads. This first safari stop is meant to give you an idea of the huge herds of animals, found only in the national park itself, and the topography and eco systems that are unique to the southern section of Kruger.

The selection of our hotel is ideal in that its located in the heart of an up and coming area with short rides to key attractions like Table Mountain Cable Way, the heart of Company Gardens and Houses of Parliament, South African National Gallery,  as well as walking distance from the oldest synagogue in the Southern Hemisphere, and a lovely Milchik restaurant on site.

Thjs day tour through what is collectively known as the Panorama route , and is the most scenic route in all of Southern Africa, set high in the mountains above the African savanna.

our route then take us to the Timbavati, which is known  for a completely different safari experience, in a different eco system.  And one of the key focus areas here will be photography and leopards!

On arrival, we will enjoy a late lunch and then go out on a well designed  safari vehicle, hosting a maximum of 4 guests per vehicle, and a specialist safari guide.

Expert tips

Timbavati reserve is known for its Big 5, but also a totally different eco system compared to Kruger. This safari is on private land, which enables us to go offroad, and get close up photos as well as getting out of the vehicle to read the tracks, or enjoy a sundowner. In this specific area, there is a very high chance of seeing leopard, as this lodge has 5 leopards in the region, and its one of key areas in the whole of Africa,  to see leopard.

Insiders, or regular safari goers, will tell you, the most elusive of the Big 5 is the leopard, and this area is well suited for these sightings. thicker bush, less open savanna, and lovely acacia thorn forests.

Day 8: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve
