Arrival in the Harz Mountains - city tour in Goslar
In the morning you will travel to the Harz Mountains with your tour guide by coach. Before you move into your room at the hotel in Goslar, a local city guide awaits you for a tour of discovery through the more than the 1,000-year-old city. The old town and the nearby Rammelsberg are on the UNESCO list of the cultural and natural heritage of mankind. The cityscape is characterized by typical guild houses, the historic town hall, and townhouses with elaborately carved half-timbered houses. Your local guide will tell you a lot about the history of Goslar, mining, and the former imperial palace. Then you move into your room in the booked hotel. Your first day of your Harz Tour ends with dinner together with your travel group.
Harz Tour - Hexentanzplatz in Thale in the Bodetal - Wernigerode
Discover the Harz today during a tour. You drive to Thale in the romantic Bodetal and visit the witches' dance floor, which was most likely an old Saxon Germanic cult site where rituals were held, especially on the night of May 1st, today's Walpurgis Night. Enjoy the view of the Rosstrappe, the famous rocky summit (403 meters) above the left bank of the Bode! Numerous legends have been entwined around the granite massif for centuries. Then you reach Wernigerode - the "colorful city" in the Harz Mountains. The closed ensemble of magnificent half-timbered houses is what makes the city so attractive. Take a little train through the old town and get special impressions of the city. Perhaps you would like to spend your free time visiting Wernigerode Castle, which towers impressively over the city?
