We will depart on 23 December, taking in the sights of Route 62 through the Little Karoo, with stops for tea and lunch en-route. Later we check into Rooiberg Lodge, with time for a rest and to unpack before dinner.
Note on accommodation: If you are booked as a single traveller, you will have your own en-suite bedroom in a two bedroom chalet. You will share the open-plan living area with another person of the same gender. Should you wish to have exclusive use of such a chalet, it can be arranged on payment of a supplement. Please talk to us.

During your stay you may choose to join the group on easy day outings in the area, with activities ranging from spectacular mountain passes and wine tastings to sleepy villages and country cuisine. Nearby attractions include the Rooiberg Pass, olive farms, wineries, farm stalls and of course the Van Wyksdorp Mall! Of course, should you wish you can remain at the lodge instead of going on day outings, to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and lunch at the lodge restaurant.
There will be enough time to enjoy the peace and quiet of the nature reserve, do some bird watching or go on short strolls in the fresh air. Meals at the lodge are hearty home-cooked treats, with a special lunch on Christmas day.
On 27 December we will tour back towards Cape Town, through the vast wheat fields and mountain scenery of the Overberg. We stop for a last hearty lunch near Cape Town, and arrive back home by mid-afternoon.
